True Heart/True Mind: The Enlightenment Intensive

November 6-9 at The Whole Health Center

True Heart/True Mind is designed to help us fall free of our mental baggage and become directly aware of our underlying nature as human beings.  A good deal of personal growth often occurs in the process.  Over the last couple of years our TH/TM retreats have been attracting a growing number of younger participants - in their early and mid-twenties and even late teens.  And thank God for that.  Our April True Heart/True Mind has been set aside specifically for our younger generation of participants to work together with their peers.  If you know - or are - a younger person mature enough to engage in this intensive heart-opening and mind-opening work, this might be an excellent opportunity for you.  Please check the sidebar for detailed information, and you can also ask us if you wish to receive complete descriptive literature of True Heart/ True Mind.  Residential retreat.  $485.00.
Scholarship support available.

Compassion, Integration and Healing – and the Tibetan Practice of Tonglen

Bar Harbor, Maine, July 19: 9:30-4:30

Tonglen is nothing less than a technical guide and support system for the exercise of unconditional love with regards to others and to ourselves.  Paul believes that the ancient Tibetan practice of tonglen is so broad, versatile, sophisticated and deep that it is able to go to the heart of both the psychological and the spiritual healing needed in our lives and in the life of the planet.  Hence we are making this training available as much as we can.   Tonglen is part of a triumvirate of basic Buddhist practice - stillness, insight and compassion.  It is a practice of compassion that is also capable of being uniquely integrative of every area of our life.  Though it may begin as a formal meditaiton practice, it is ultimately an orientation towards being, a sense of iintimacy and compassion that slips into and supports all of our living.  Please ask for a more complete description of what this workshop will cover.

To register call Paul Weiss at 207-288-4128.  $85.00

Programs with Clinical Herbalist Chris Marano

 The Language of Plants

This three-part course marries the scientific and the intuitive as we learn how to interpret what plants are teaching us about themselves through their physical characteristics, their communities and their habitats, and their subtle energies and qualities.  Part One: Sunday, July 13: The Language of the Physical.  Part Two: Sunday, August 17: The Language of Personality.  Part Three, Sunday, September 28: The Language of Connection.  Please ask us for a more complete description of each of these classes (which are meant to be taken as a whole).  $85.00 each or $195.00 for the whole series.

Programs in Wendell, Massachusetts, July 26 and 27

Saturday: Awakening the Heart of Qi Gong

Sunday: Compassion, Integration and Healing

Each of these workshops addresses, in complementary ways, the way in which our chronic mental and emotional reactivity limits our full development as human beings.  Qi gong begins with the body and its energy systems, and extends to the heart, as we learn to relax past chronic contractions of body, mind and spirit through a joyful integration of movement, breath and awareness.  The second workshop, Compassion, Integration and Healing, focusing on Tibetan tonglen practice, begins with the heart, and shows us how to open into our full capacity for presence and love.

An excellent combo.  $85 each, or $135 for both.
